Somehow the scoia felt very weak, so I started to make some calculations to figure out why. The best was nilfgaard > northern > monster > scoia'tael. The player with those decks has no chance at all.Īfter we made these changes, we started testing the decks and it became already much more balanced like this, but there was still a major difference between the decks. We always reused the spy cards with the decoy or medic, and against a scoia or a monster deck (they don't have ANY spies) it wasn't fair at all. limited spy cards: you can have max 2 spy cards in your deck! That was the most important, cause after playing some rounds for example with the nilfgaardians, who has 3 spy cards + the hero spy card, we figured out fast that it won't be fun on the original way. limited hero cards: the max amount what you can put in your deck is 5, more would be too powerfulĢ. But so far everything works perfect and it seems like we can implement everything we wanted and create the exact same game as in Witcher 3. ^^ At the early progress we planned it just for ourselves, let's say it was more like a hobby project and it wasn't even sure we can make it. then came the idea to create our own Gwent, where we can kick each others butts online in epic card fights.

We were searching for a real Gwent game with real cards, or any planned online game, but except the collector's edition decks and a tabletop simulator we didn't find anything. But there is a huge problem: we cannot play against each other. Me and my friends are big fans of Witcher 3 and I can also say, we are addicted to Gwent.
